Also known as JURECA Data Centric Module
Operated by Forschungszentrum Julich at Julich Supercomputing Centre .
Phase 1 seed dataset, compiled by hand. These rows were built from public operator, laboratory and vendor sources. A mechanical second-reader pass has since fetched every cited source: 1092 of 1153 systems have a readable citation that names them, and 40 are genuinely weakly sourced. Every claim carries its source and a confidence tier. Treat anything below verified as a lead, not a citation.

Figures are as last publicly reported for the configuration described below, not a live measurement. Where a system was upgraded in place, the post-upgrade configuration is shown and the earlier one appears in the timeline.
What this machine is made of
One row per supplier relationship. “Supplier at build” is the company that shipped the part at the time; where that company has since been acquired, the parent it rolls up to today is shown beside it. That distinction is what makes ticker-level aggregation possible across a thirty-year dataset.

The read
The data-centric module of Julich's modular JURECA machine: 480 standard and 96 large-memory nodes of two AMD EPYC 7742 CPUs, plus 192 GPU nodes of four NVIDIA A100 each, on InfiniBand HDR. JSC says the first phase ran from 2020 and the full module was available from May 2021; TOP500 first lists it in June 2021 at 43rd and its best rank is that one. JSC quotes a peak of 18.52 PFlop/s including the GPUs and about 98,304 CPU cores, against TOP500's 14.51 PFlop/s and 105,840 cores, so neither peak nor core count is recorded. TOP500 says CentOS where JSC now says Rocky Linux 9, so no OS edge is recorded. JSC's current page also lists 32 H100 nodes reserved for other research groups, which are not counted here. TOP500 is the only source for Rmax, so the tier is reported.

Where sources disagree
We record conflicts instead of picking a winner quietly. All open questions.
- Peak performance: 18.52 PFlop/s including GPUs (JSC) against 14.51 PFlop/s (TOP500). Likely different scopes; no peak is recorded.
- Core count: about 98,304 CPU cores (JSC) against 105,840 (TOP500). No core count is recorded.
- Operating system: Rocky Linux 9 (JSC) against CentOS (TOP500). TOP500 may be stale; no OS edge is recorded.
Change history
- 2026-09-22 Gained a Green500 rank pointer (#45 on the 2024-06 list)
- 2026-09-20 Added with a rank pointer; peak, cores and OS conflicts logged
Source check
We fetched this system's own citations and recorded whether each page actually mentions it. This is a corroboration signal, not a fact check, and it is published so you can see how well the sourcing holds up rather than take it on trust.
