Monarch Compute Campus

Also known as Nscale West Virginia AI campus

Operated by Nscale at Monarch Campus (Mason County) .

Phase 1 seed dataset, compiled by hand. These rows were built from public operator, laboratory and vendor sources. A mechanical second-reader pass has since fetched every cited source: 1263 of 1345 systems have a readable citation that names them, and 56 are genuinely weakly sourced. Every claim carries its source and a confidence tier. Treat anything below verified as a lead, not a citation.

What this machine is made of

One row per supplier relationship. “Supplier at build” is the company that shipped the part at the time; where that company has since been acquired, the parent it rolls up to today is shown beside it. That distinction is what makes ticker-level aggregation possible across a thirty-year dataset.

The read

Nscale's AI factory campus on up to 2,250 acres in Mason County, West Virginia, acquired with American Intelligence & Power Corporation in March 2026 and described by Nscale as the first state-certified AI microgrid in the US, with a power runway above 8 GW. Nscale's 17 March 2026 release with Microsoft, NVIDIA and Caterpillar states 1.35 GW of NVIDIA Vera Rubin NVL72 GPUs, deployment from late 2027, and 2 GW of on-site Caterpillar G3500 natural gas generation targeted for the first half of 2028. Bloomberg reported on 26 August 2026 (relayed by trade press, not confirmed by Anthropic or Nscale) that Anthropic took 460 MW of the first phase for six years after Microsoft withdrew its letter of intent; that figure is recorded as a reported contracted claim only. No GPU count is published and nothing is yet built, so the status is planned.
