Google New Albany TPU Campus
Deep dive: Anthropic and Google TPUs: stated vs modelled
Also known as Google New Albany (Ohio)
Operated by Alphabet at Google New Albany Data Center .
Phase 1 seed dataset, compiled by hand. These rows were built from public operator, laboratory and vendor sources. A mechanical second-reader pass has since fetched every cited source: 1092 of 1153 systems have a readable citation that names them, and 40 are genuinely weakly sourced. Every claim carries its source and a confidence tier. Treat anything below verified as a lead, not a citation.

What this machine is made of
One row per supplier relationship. “Supplier at build” is the company that shipped the part at the time; where that company has since been acquired, the parent it rolls up to today is shown beside it. That distinction is what makes ticker-level aggregation possible across a thirty-year dataset.

AI datacenter metrics
Figures beyond an accelerator count, each with who stated it. What can and cannot be compared across AI datacenters.
| Metric | Value | As of | Basis | Note | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Accelerators | 576,400 accelerators | 2026-10-02 | Third-party estimate | About 247,000 TPU v5e, 66,600 v5p and 262,700 v6e (sum is ours). Epoch AI chip estimate (modelled from satellite imagery, cooling equipment and chip availability); not an operator disclosure. | epoch.ai |

The read
Google's New Albany, Ohio data center campus, where Google broke ground in 2019 and which is separate from Meta's Prometheus campus in the same city. Google's Ohio page gives only state-level investment (more than 20 billion dollars since 2019) and no TPU count or power. Epoch AI's AI data centers dataset (CC BY 4.0) estimates about 247,000 TPU v5e, 66,600 TPU v5p and 262,700 TPU v6e chips and 333 MW of IT power as of 2 October 2026, first building operational April 2024, with cooling power taken from a similar Google permit, so these are modelled third-party estimates recorded only in the metrics table. Google reports a campus trailing-twelve-month PUE of 1.07 (Q2 2026). Hardware rests on Epoch alone, so the tier is reported.

Source check
We fetched this system's own citations and recorded whether each page actually mentions it. This is a corroboration signal, not a fact check, and it is published so you can see how well the sourcing holds up rather than take it on trust.
