davinci-2
Operated by Leonardo S.p.A. at Leonardo Fiumara Tower (Genoa) .
Phase 1 seed dataset, compiled by hand. These rows were built from public operator, laboratory and vendor sources. A mechanical second-reader pass has since fetched every cited source: 1092 of 1153 systems have a readable citation that names them, and 40 are genuinely weakly sourced. Every claim carries its source and a confidence tier. Treat anything below verified as a lead, not a citation.

Figures are as last publicly reported for the configuration described below, not a live measurement. Where a system was upgraded in place, the post-upgrade configuration is shown and the earlier one appears in the timeline.
What this machine is made of
One row per supplier relationship. “Supplier at build” is the company that shipped the part at the time; where that company has since been acquired, the parent it rolls up to today is shown beside it. That distinction is what makes ticker-level aggregation possible across a thirty-year dataset.

The read
The 2025 upgrade to Leonardo SpA's davinci-1, installed at the same Genoa (Fiumara Tower) site rather than replacing it: Leonardo's own hpc.leonardo.com page describes both as part of one Hypercomputing Continuum with davinci-2 as its current operational hub. TOP500 lists it as an HPE Cray XD670 system of Intel Xeon Platinum 8568Y+ CPUs and NVIDIA H200 SXM5 141GB GPUs on InfiniBand NDR400, 43,776 cores, Rmax 14.21 PFlop/s and Rpeak 20.64 PFlop/s, first appearing on the November 2025 list at rank 123 and still listed at rank 142 in June 2026. Leonardo's own page separately states the upgrade reaches up to 27 PFlop/s Rpeak and 20 PFlop/s Rmax across more than 350 nodes (over 230 CPU and 120 GPU nodes), a vendor-rounded figure close to but not identical to TOP500's measured numbers, the same kind of rounding gap already noted elsewhere in this dataset between Eni's own HPC6/HPC7 statements and TOP500's Linpack figures. No power draw was found in either source, and neither source names the exact HPE/NVIDIA hardware edge independently of the other, so the individual component rows stay at reported tier even though the system-level facts (name, site, 2025 timing, approximate performance) are corroborated by both TOP500 and Leonardo.

Source check
We fetched this system's own citations and recorded whether each page actually mentions it. This is a corroboration signal, not a fact check, and it is published so you can see how well the sourcing holds up rather than take it on trust.
