Phase 1 seed dataset, compiled by hand. These rows were built from public operator, laboratory and vendor sources. A mechanical second-reader pass has since fetched every cited source: 1092 of 1153 systems have a readable citation that names them, and 40 are genuinely weakly sourced. Every claim carries its source and a confidence tier. Treat anything below verified as a lead, not a citation.

What this machine is made of

One row per supplier relationship. “Supplier at build” is the company that shipped the part at the time; where that company has since been acquired, the parent it rolls up to today is shown beside it. That distinction is what makes ticker-level aggregation possible across a thirty-year dataset.

The read

Leonardo SpA's in-house supercomputer at its Fiumara Tower campus in Genoa, distinct from CINECA's EuroHPC system that is also named Leonardo and already in this dataset. Built through a technology partnership with Atos on the BullSequana X platform, pairing AMD EPYC 7402 CPUs with NVIDIA A100 accelerators over Mellanox HDR InfiniBand. Leonardo's own December 2020 announcement states over 5 PFlop/s and more than 100 supercomputing units; TOP500 independently lists 38,400 cores, Rmax 3.45 PFlop/s and Rpeak 6.41 PFlop/s, first appearing on the November 2020 list at rank 88 and still listed at rank 390 in June 2026, which is the basis for the operational status. Leonardo's own hpc.leonardo.com page and TOP500 agree davinci-1 is the base of what the company calls its Hypercomputing Continuum, used across aerospace, defence, security, AI and materials research; that overlap between an independent source and Leonardo's own account is why the accelerator identity (NVIDIA A100) is marked verified even though the exact memory variant is not specified by either source. No power draw was found.

Source check

We fetched this system's own citations and recorded whether each page actually mentions it. This is a corroboration signal, not a fact check, and it is published so you can see how well the sourcing holds up rather than take it on trust.
