G-QuAT System Q

G-QuAT System Q is a neutral atoms quantum computer operated by AIST in Japan. It has 260 physical qubits. It ranks 3 of 10 neutral atom machines in this table by physical qubit count. 10 sourced specs are in the spec sheet. No benchmark figures are recorded for it yet.

Also known as QuEra 260-qubit neutral-atom system at AIST

QuEra neutral-atom system run by AIST's G-QuAT centre alongside the ABCI-Q GPU supercomputer. AIST's page lists it as operational with 260 physical qubits; NVIDIA's May 2025 release names QuEra as a partner but gives no qubit count. A third system, an OptQC photonic machine, was only scheduled for installation and is not included. The start date is not stated in the sources used.

Co-located supercomputer: ABCI-Q. This machine is integrated with, or hosted beside, that system.

Spec sheet

Technical details as the builder or a paper states them, each with its own source. A blank is a fact we could not source, not a zero. Fidelity and coherence figures are in the benchmark table below.

SpecValueBasisNoteSource
Processor QuEra Gemini-class custom system, 260 physical qubits Vendor reported QuEra says it built a custom solution based on Gemini-class technology for AIST; AIST lists System Q as 260 physical qubits. quera.comunit.aist.go.jp
Qubit type 87Rb neutral atom Vendor reported AIST states 260 physical qubits based on 87Rb atoms for System Q; QuEra's Gemini specification table also lists Rubidium-87. unit.aist.go.jpquera.com
Topology All-to-all via shuttling atoms between a storage zone and an entanglement zone Vendor reported Gemini family specification (two zones, all-to-all connectivity); QuEra describes the AIST unit as Gemini-class, so this is a family-level fact. quera.comquera.com
Cooling and environment Room-temperature operation Vendor reported AIST says System Q operates at room temperature; QuEra says Gemini-class systems run at room temperature. unit.aist.go.jpquera.com
Power draw 12 kW Vendor reported QuEra roadmap lists Gemini-class systems as under 12 kW, so 12 is an upper bound for the family, not a measurement of the AIST unit. quera.com
Software QASM circuit-level interface, Bloqade GPU emulator; NVIDIA CUDA-Q on ABCI-Q Vendor reported Interfaces are from the Gemini family specification; QuEra's AIST release says ABCI-Q is integrated with NVIDIA CUDA-Q. quera.comquera.com
Cloud platforms ABCI-Q user portal (AIST G-QuAT) Vendor reported AIST provides access through its ABCI-Q platform; March 2026 AIST news says neutral-atom and superconducting systems are open to NEDO joint research and external users. unit.aist.go.jpunit.aist.go.jp
Access and pricing Prepaid ABCI-Q points: 35 points per minute, JPY 100 to 360 per point by category (FY2025 domestic rates) Vendor reported AIST fee table; FY2025 service was domestic only with international service planned for FY2026, and access methods vary by system. unit.aist.go.jpunit.aist.go.jp
Predecessor QuEra Aquila Vendor reported QuEra roadmap sequence Aquila (2022) then Gemini (2025); the AIST unit is a Gemini-class custom system. quera.com
Successor Libra Vendor reported QuEra lists Libra, a fault-tolerant system, as launching 2028; this is the product-line successor, not a stated upgrade of the AIST unit. quera.com
