Aramco Pasqal QPU
Aramco Pasqal QPU is a neutral atoms quantum computer operated by Saudi Aramco in Saudi Arabia. It has 200 physical qubits. It ranks 5 of 10 neutral atom machines in this table by physical qubit count. 8 sourced specs are in the spec sheet. No benchmark figures are recorded for it yet.
Also known as Saudi Arabia's first quantum computer
Pasqal neutral-atom QPU in Aramco's Dhahran data center, first deployed in November 2025 and formally inaugurated on 18 May 2026 as a commercial quantum-computing-as-a-service platform. Aramco's announcement does not describe any link to its supercomputers, so no hpc_system_id is set. Stated uses are port logistics, CO2 storage optimization, well placement and rig scheduling.
Spec sheet
Technical details as the builder or a paper states them, each with its own source. A blank is a fact we could not source, not a zero. Fidelity and coherence figures are in the benchmark table below.
| Spec | Value | Basis | Note | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Processor | Orion Gamma generation QPU, 200 programmable qubits | Vendor reported | Pasqal docs list FRESNEL_SA1 (Orion Gamma, up to 200 qubits, Saudi Arabia); Aramco says 200 qubits but does not name the generation, so the mapping is inferred. | docs.pasqal.comaramco.com |
| Qubit type | Rubidium atoms trapped in optical tweezers | Vendor reported | Docs describe all Pasqal QPUs this way; Aramco says only neutral-atom technology. | docs.pasqal.comaramco.com |
| Topology | Programmable 2D atom arrays, minimum spacing 5 um, radial distance up to 70 um | Vendor reported | Orion Gamma limits from Pasqal docs; Aramco's release says 200 qubits arranged in programmable two-dimensional arrays. | docs.pasqal.comthequantuminsider.com |
| Native gates | Analog mode with global Rydberg pulses | Vendor reported | Docs list FRESNEL_SA1 as analog mode; sequences up to 6000 ns. | docs.pasqal.com |
| Cooling and environment | No cryogenics; laser-trapped atoms | Vendor reported | Pasqal hardware page says zero cryogenics for its neutral-atom systems; a family-wide statement. | pasqal.com |
| Cloud platforms | Aramco quantum-computing-as-a-service platform (Pasqal KSA Cloud) | Vendor reported | Aramco describes remote cloud access; Pasqal docs list FRESNEL_SA1 on KSA Cloud only. | aramco.comdocs.pasqal.com |
| Access and pricing | Commercial cloud service run from Saudi Arabia; no price published | Vendor reported | Aramco says the platform launched 18 May 2026; Pasqal docs say the device is only on KSA Cloud. | aramco.comdocs.pasqal.com |
| Roadmap | Pasqal line moves to Vela (200+ qubits), Centaurus (500+) and Lyra | Vendor reported | Line-level Pasqal roadmap (October 2025); Aramco's release gives no hardware roadmap for this unit. | pasqal.com |
