MoQuren
MoQuren is a photonic quantum computer operated by AIST in Japan. Its physical qubit count has not been published. 4 sourced specs are in the spec sheet. No benchmark figures are recorded for it yet.
Also known as OptQC MoQuren, AIST SystemO precursor
OptQC's first optical quantum computer, installed at AIST's G-QuAT in Tsukuba and announced as operating on 22 July 2026 under the BRIDGE programme (project management by QST). AIST describes it as operating at room temperature and ambient pressure with no cryogenic cooling, and as the step toward SystemO, the optical module of the ABCI-Q quantum-classical hybrid infrastructure; it joins the QuEra and superconducting systems already at G-QuAT (g-quat-system-q, g-quat-system-f). Neither page gives mode or qubit counts or performance figures, and general access has not been announced; OptQC is building an SDK with simulation for early developers. Quantum Computing Report dates the deployment to July 2026 and links OptQC to NTT's capital alliance for a larger optical machine.
Spec sheet
Technical details as the builder or a paper states them, each with its own source. A blank is a fact we could not source, not a zero. Fidelity and coherence figures are in the benchmark table below.
| Spec | Value | Basis | Note | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Processor | OptQC continuous-variable optical quantum processor | Vendor reported | AIST page names the optical method; the continuous-variable label comes from trade coverage of OptQC generally. | aist.go.jpquantumcomputingreport.com |
| Cooling and environment | None needed: operates at room temperature and ambient pressure | Vendor reported | aist.go.jp | |
| Access and pricing | General availability not announced; OptQC building an SDK with simulation for early developers | Vendor reported | aist.go.jp | |
| Roadmap | Leads to SystemO, the optical module of AIST's ABCI-Q hybrid infrastructure | Vendor reported | aist.go.jpquantumcomputingreport.com |
