DDN EXAScaler

Lustre appliance line common under European and Japanese HPC systems.

Why this part

DDN is the largest independent storage vendor in HPC and one of very few private companies in this dataset with no public ticker, which makes it invisible to the market-exposure analysis on this site even though it sits under a substantial share of European and Japanese installed FLOPS. EXAScaler is Lustre packaged as an appliance. The company's position is a reminder that supply-chain concentration in this industry is not only about semiconductors: there are very few people who will sell you a filesystem that works at this scale.

“Units recorded” sums only the edges where a public source states a quantity. It is a floor, not a total, and should never be read as installed base.
