CRESCO7
Also known as ENEA CRESCO7
Operated by ENEA at ENEA Portici Research Centre .
Researched with AI assistance, checked by scripts. These rows were researched by AI agents reading public operator, laboratory and vendor sources, appended by scripts and checked by automated validation; no subject-matter expert has reviewed them (how this site is made). A mechanical second-reader pass has since fetched every cited source: 1350 of 1581 systems have a readable citation that names them, and 64 are genuinely weakly sourced. Every claim carries its source and a confidence tier. Treat anything below verified as a lead, not a citation.

What this machine is made of
One row per supplier relationship. “Supplier at build” is the company that shipped the part at the time; where that company has since been acquired, the parent it rolls up to today is shown beside it. That distinction is what makes ticker-level aggregation possible across a thirty-year dataset.

The read
Intel Skylake partition at ENEA's Portici research centre, run beside CRESCO6 (cresco6) and the newer CRESCO8 (enea-cresco8); it is not on the TOP500. ENEA's presentation of 1 July 2024 lists 3 racks holding 144 Lenovo ThinkSystem SD530 nodes, each with two Xeon Platinum 8160 (2.10 GHz, 48 cores) and 192 GB of RAM, InfiniBand EDR at 100 Gb/s, a DDN ExaScaler400NVE store of 1 PB, AlmaLinux 9.2 and SLURM 23.11.5 (partition 'cresco7'); that is 6,912 cores by multiplication. ENEA's SC23 poster instead lists CRESCO7 at 3,072 cores and about 200 TFlop/s, with two DDN SFA7790 systems of 4 PB raw, and says it was one of two clusters deployed in 2023. The two ENEA documents may describe different stages of the cluster and neither gives a benchmark result, so no core count or FLOPS figure is recorded.
