Researched with AI assistance, checked by scripts. These rows were researched by AI agents reading public operator, laboratory and vendor sources, appended by scripts and checked by automated validation; no subject-matter expert has reviewed them (how this site is made). A mechanical second-reader pass has since fetched every cited source: 1350 of 1540 systems have a readable citation that names them, and 64 are genuinely weakly sourced. Every claim carries its source and a confidence tier. Treat anything below verified as a lead, not a citation.

Figures are as last publicly reported for the configuration described below, not a live measurement. Where a system was upgraded in place, the post-upgrade configuration is shown and the earlier one appears in the timeline.
What this machine is made of
One row per supplier relationship. “Supplier at build” is the company that shipped the part at the time; where that company has since been acquired, the parent it rolls up to today is shown beside it. That distinction is what makes ticker-level aggregation possible across a thirty-year dataset.

The read
C-DAC-built supercomputer at IIT Gandhinagar under the National Supercomputing Mission, commissioned on 30 May 2022 (NSM page and EE Times India agree on the date and on the 838 TFlop/s peak). The NSM specification sheet lists 107 CPU-only nodes and 39 high-memory (768 GB) nodes, each with two Intel Xeon Cascade Lake 8268 24-core 2.9 GHz processors, plus 10 GPU nodes with two Xeon 6248 processors and two NVIDIA V100 SXM2 cards each, 10 master/service/login nodes, 52.416 TB of memory, a 100 Gb/s Mellanox InfiniBand fat tree and 1 PiB of parallel storage. Cooling is described as direct contact liquid cooling. The NSM site publishes the same node mix and 838 TFlop/s figure for several sibling 838 TF machines (for example PARAM Himalaya), so the number is a design tier rather than a per-site measurement; no Linpack result is published. See also param-siddhi-ai and param-pravega for other NSM machines.
