xAI Atlanta

Also known as xAI QTS Atlanta cluster

Operated by xAI at QTS Atlanta Metro Campus (xAI) .

Phase 1 seed dataset, compiled by hand. These rows were built from public operator, laboratory and vendor sources. A mechanical second-reader pass has since fetched every cited source: 1092 of 1153 systems have a readable citation that names them, and 40 are genuinely weakly sourced. Every claim carries its source and a confidence tier. Treat anything below verified as a lead, not a citation.

What this machine is made of

One row per supplier relationship. “Supplier at build” is the company that shipped the part at the time; where that company has since been acquired, the parent it rolls up to today is shown beside it. That distinction is what makes ticker-level aggregation possible across a thirty-year dataset.

The read

A GPU cluster shared by xAI and X Corp inside Quality Technology Services' 95-acre Atlanta-Metro campus, financed through a Develop Fulton municipal bond for about 700 million dollars of chips, cables and other equipment, approved on 23 January 2024. Fortune, citing the Develop Fulton documents, confirms the 700 million dollars of equipment, the 10-year agreement finalised on 26 December 2024 and a purpose of developing and training AI products including large language models; it gives no GPU count. Teslarati, reporting the same documents, gives 12,448 GPUs, about 97 percent Hopper H100 and about 3 percent A100, split 442 million dollars to X and 258 million dollars to xAI. The bond fact sheet itself could not be fetched, so the count rests on press reporting of it. Epoch AI's dataset (CC BY 4.0) lists the cluster operational since 20 February 2025 at about 17 MW of IT power, an estimate recorded in the metrics table. Much smaller than xAI's Memphis Colossus sites. Reported tier.
