Stargate Milam County
Also known as OpenAI Stargate Milam County
Operated by SB Energy at SB Energy Milam County Campus .
Phase 1 seed dataset, compiled by hand. These rows were built from public operator, laboratory and vendor sources. A mechanical second-reader pass has since fetched every cited source: 1092 of 1153 systems have a readable citation that names them, and 40 are genuinely weakly sourced. Every claim carries its source and a confidence tier. Treat anything below verified as a lead, not a citation.

What this machine is made of
One row per supplier relationship. “Supplier at build” is the company that shipped the part at the time; where that company has since been acquired, the parent it rolls up to today is shown beside it. That distinction is what makes ticker-level aggregation possible across a thirty-year dataset.

The read
A 1.2 GW OpenAI Stargate data center site in Milam County, Texas, announced on 9 January 2026 with SB Energy (a SoftBank Group company) to build and operate it, OpenAI having signed a lease for the site and OpenAI and SoftBank each investing 500 million dollars in SB Energy. The announcement says SB Energy plans to build new generation to serve the site and that it will enter service starting in 2026; it names no accelerator type or count. Epoch AI's Stargate site tracker independently lists the same site with SB Energy as developer at 1.2 GW projected and a Q4 2028 completion, with steel framing and roofing visible. Power is blank because 1.2 GW is a site design capacity.
