SK Ulsan AI Data Center

Also known as SK Telecom AWS Ulsan AI data center; Ulsan AIDC

Operated by SK Telecom at SK Ulsan AI Data Center Site .

Phase 1 seed dataset, compiled by hand. These rows were built from public operator, laboratory and vendor sources. A mechanical second-reader pass has since fetched every cited source: 1092 of 1153 systems have a readable citation that names them, and 40 are genuinely weakly sourced. Every claim carries its source and a confidence tier. Treat anything below verified as a lead, not a citation.

What this machine is made of

One row per supplier relationship. “Supplier at build” is the company that shipped the part at the time; where that company has since been acquired, the parent it rolls up to today is shown beside it. That distinction is what makes ticker-level aggregation possible across a thirty-year dataset.

The read

A GPU-dedicated AI data center that SK Telecom, SK Ecoplant and Amazon Web Services broke ground on in Ulsan in late August 2025 (Invest Korea dates it 1 September, Light Reading and The Tech Capital say August), described as Korea's largest AI facility outside the Seoul area. Light Reading reports a 100 MW facility with 60,000 GPUs, and The Tech Capital reports 40 MW in 2027 scaling to 100 MW; Light Reading gives the phases as 40 MW by November 2027 and full capacity by February 2029. The Korea Herald adds 20 to 40 kW racks with hybrid cooling capable of 40 to 100 kW per rack. No GPU vendor is named on the fetched pages, the Invest Korea page gives no figures, and the figures come from trade press, so the tier is reported.
