Euler I-II
Also known as Euler 2; ETH Euler II
Operated by ETH Zurich at ETH Zurich Scientific IT Services Data Center .
Phase 1 seed dataset, compiled by hand. These rows were built from public operator, laboratory and vendor sources. A mechanical second-reader pass has since fetched every cited source: 1263 of 1345 systems have a readable citation that names them, and 56 are genuinely weakly sourced. Every claim carries its source and a confidence tier. Treat anything below verified as a lead, not a citation.

Figures are as last publicly reported for the configuration described below, not a live measurement. Where a system was upgraded in place, the post-upgrade configuration is shown and the earlier one appears in the timeline.
What this machine is made of
One row per supplier relationship. “Supplier at build” is the company that shipped the part at the time; where that company has since been acquired, the parent it rolls up to today is shown beside it. That distinction is what makes ticker-level aggregation possible across a thirty-year dataset.

The read
The first two generations of ETH Zurich's Euler cluster as TOP500 listed them under the name Euler 2. ETH's hardware documentation says Euler I was purchased at the end of 2013 and was in operation from 2014 to 2018, and Euler II was purchased at the end of 2014 and was in operation from 2015 to 2020; the current Euler cluster is recorded separately as Euler. TOP500 lists an HPE Cluster Platform 3000 BL460c Gen8 system of Xeon E5-2697v2 12-core 2.7 GHz processors on InfiniBand FDR, at 9,984 cores (194.15 TFlop/s Rmax) from June 2014 and 17,664 cores, 237.40 TFlop/s Rmax and 381.54 TFlop/s Rpeak from June 2015, ranked 254th in June 2014 and 434th in November 2015. That the growth from 9,984 to 17,664 cores is the Euler II addition is an inference from the dates; the decommissioning year is the end of Euler II's operation per ETH, so the tier is reported.

Source check
We fetched this system's own citations and recorded whether each page actually mentions it. This is a corroboration signal, not a fact check, and it is published so you can see how well the sourcing holds up rather than take it on trust.
