Pangea 4
Operated by TotalEnergies at TotalEnergies CSTJF (Pau) .
Phase 1 seed dataset, compiled by hand. These rows were built from public operator, laboratory and vendor sources. A mechanical second-reader pass has since fetched every cited source: 1092 of 1153 systems have a readable citation that names them, and 40 are genuinely weakly sourced. Every claim carries its source and a confidence tier. Treat anything below verified as a lead, not a citation.

What this machine is made of
One row per supplier relationship. “Supplier at build” is the company that shipped the part at the time; where that company has since been acquired, the parent it rolls up to today is shown beside it. That distinction is what makes ticker-level aggregation possible across a thirty-year dataset.

The read
TotalEnergies' fourth-generation Pangea machine at the same Pau CSTJF site as Pangea III (already in this dataset), launched 2 July 2024 as a hybrid of a seven-rack on-site system plus a cloud component TotalEnergies calls Pangea@Cloud. TotalEnergies' own release states it runs twice as fast as Pangea II around the clock at 5.5 Gflops per watt and 87 percent less energy than Pangea II, and has broadened from exploration-production work to wind-farm siting, CO2 storage and methane-reduction modelling for the whole company; Zonebourse's independent republication of the same launch confirms the date, location and doubled-speed claim. Neither fetched source names a hardware vendor or states an absolute Rmax/Rpeak/core count, and no TOP500 submission was found for Pangea 4 (unlike Pangea III), so ranked is 0 and no FLOPS figure is recorded rather than estimated from the power-efficiency claim.

Source check
We fetched this system's own citations and recorded whether each page actually mentions it. This is a corroboration signal, not a fact check, and it is published so you can see how well the sourcing holds up rather than take it on trust.
