Lambda Kansas City AI Factory
Operated by Lambda at Lambda Kansas City Data Center .
Phase 1 seed dataset, compiled by hand. These rows were built from public operator, laboratory and vendor sources. A mechanical second-reader pass has since fetched every cited source: 1092 of 1153 systems have a readable citation that names them, and 40 are genuinely weakly sourced. Every claim carries its source and a confidence tier. Treat anything below verified as a lead, not a citation.

Figures are as last publicly reported for the configuration described below, not a live measurement. Where a system was upgraded in place, the post-upgrade configuration is shown and the earlier one appears in the timeline.
What this machine is made of
One row per supplier relationship. “Supplier at build” is the company that shipped the part at the time; where that company has since been acquired, the parent it rolls up to today is shown beside it. That distinction is what makes ticker-level aggregation possible across a thirty-year dataset.
| Role | Part | Supplier at build | Quantity | Confidence | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Integrator | - Lambda develops and operates the facility as sole tenant in a converted 2009-built data center building | Lambda | - | Reported | lambda.ai |
| Accelerator | - More than 10,000 NVIDIA Blackwell Ultra GPUs at launch, expected to double over time | NVIDIA | 10,000 reported | Reported | lambda.aided.mo.gov |
AI datacenter metrics
Figures beyond an accelerator count, each with who stated it. What can and cannot be compared across AI datacenters.
| Metric | Value | As of | Basis | Note | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Accelerators | 10,000 accelerators | 2025-10 | Design target | Lambda: more than 10,000 Blackwell Ultra GPUs at launch, footprint expected to double; floor value; both sources are Lambda | lambda.aiprnewswire.com |
| Stated investment | 0.5 USD bn | 2025-10 | Design target | Lambda: initial phase expected to include upwards of half a billion dollars of investment; floor value | prnewswire.com |
| Facility power | 100 MW | 2025-10-28 | Design target | Lambda: 24 MW at early 2026 launch, more than 100 MW in the future. IT vs total not stated; value is the lower bound of the stated long-term size. | lambda.ai |
The read
A single-tenant AI factory that Lambda is building inside a vacant 2009-built data center building in Kansas City, Missouri, dedicated to one Lambda customer for large-scale training and inference under a multi-year agreement. Lambda and the Missouri Department of Economic Development independently state the same plan: 24 MW at launch in early 2026, scalable to more than 100 MW, with more than 10,000 NVIDIA Blackwell Ultra GPUs at the start and a footprint expected to double over time, at an investment above 500 million dollars. Neither source names a server vendor, network fabric or cooling design, and no fetched source confirms that the early-2026 launch actually happened, so status is recorded as under_construction as of the announcement date and power is left blank because 24 MW is a stated launch capacity, not a measured draw. It has never submitted an HPL result.

Source check
We fetched this system's own citations and recorded whether each page actually mentions it. This is a corroboration signal, not a fact check, and it is published so you can see how well the sourcing holds up rather than take it on trust.
