VTT Q50
VTT Q50 is a superconducting circuits quantum computer operated by VTT in Finland. It has 50 physical qubits. It ranks 29 of 43 superconducting machines in this table by physical qubit count. 11 sourced specs are in the spec sheet. No benchmark figures are recorded for it yet.
Also known as VTT 50-qubit quantum computer
Europe's first 50-qubit superconducting quantum computer, developed by VTT with IQM and launched on 4 March 2025. It is integrated with the LUMI supercomputer, and academic access in Finland runs through LUMI under the FiQCI framework. Topology and gate fidelities are not given in the source used.
Co-located supercomputer: LUMI. This machine is integrated with, or hosted beside, that system.
Spec sheet
Technical details as the builder or a paper states them, each with its own source. A blank is a fact we could not source, not a zero. Fidelity and coherence figures are in the benchmark table below.
| Spec | Value | Basis | Note | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Processor | IQM-built superconducting chip, 50-qubit system (IQM benchmark lists 53 qubits) | Vendor reported | IQM release table gives qubit count 53, 1Q fidelity median 99.93% and 2Q median 98.92%; VTT and LUMI call it a 50-qubit machine. | iqm.techlumi-supercomputer.eu |
| Qubit type | flux-tunable transmon (IQM qubit crystal family) | Vendor reported | Family-wide: taken from IQM's Garnet white paper, not a VTT Q50 document. | arxiv.org |
| Topology | square lattice with tunable couplers (IQM qubit crystal family) | Vendor reported | Family-wide fact from IQM's 20-qubit white paper; VTT release says Q50 is the baseline for IQM Radiance 54. | arxiv.org |
