Raptor
Also known as AFRL DSRC Cray XE6 Raptor
Operated by AFRL DSRC at AFRL DSRC (Wright-Patterson AFB) .
Phase 1 seed dataset, compiled by hand. These rows were built from public operator, laboratory and vendor sources. A mechanical second-reader pass has since fetched every cited source: 1263 of 1345 systems have a readable citation that names them, and 56 are genuinely weakly sourced. Every claim carries its source and a confidence tier. Treat anything below verified as a lead, not a citation.

Figures are as last publicly reported for the configuration described below, not a live measurement. Where a system was upgraded in place, the post-upgrade configuration is shown and the earlier one appears in the timeline.
What this machine is made of
One row per supplier relationship. “Supplier at build” is the company that shipped the part at the time; where that company has since been acquired, the parent it rolls up to today is shown beside it. That distinction is what makes ticker-level aggregation possible across a thirty-year dataset.

The read
Cray XE6 at the Air Force Research Laboratory DoD Supercomputing Resource Center, Wright-Patterson AFB. TOP500 lists AMD Opteron 16C 2.5GHz processors on the Cray Gemini interconnect running Linux, 85,440 cores, Rmax 674.90 TFlop/s and Rpeak 854.40 TFlop/s; it first appeared 18th on the November 2010 list and was last listed 41st in June 2013. An AFRL DSRC hardware page captured by the Internet Archive in 2010 lists Raptor as a Cray XE6 rated at 410.04 TFLOPS with 2,732 compute nodes of 16 cores at 2.4 GHz and Gemini, and a 2012 capture lists 32 cores per node at 2.5 GHz, which indicates an in-place upgrade; the AFRL 410.04 TFLOPS rating is not consistent with TOP500's later 854.40 TFlop/s Rpeak (2,732 nodes at 32 cores would be 87,424 cores against TOP500's 85,440), so the tier is reported.

Source check
We fetched this system's own citations and recorded whether each page actually mentions it. This is a corroboration signal, not a fact check, and it is published so you can see how well the sourcing holds up rather than take it on trust.
