Yonsei IBM Quantum System One
Yonsei IBM Quantum System One is a superconducting circuits quantum computer operated by Yonsei University in South Korea. It has 127 physical qubits. It ranks 12 of 43 superconducting machines in this table by physical qubit count. 7 sourced specs are in the spec sheet. No benchmark figures are recorded for it yet.
Also known as Yonsei University IBM Quantum System One
First IBM Quantum System One in South Korea, deployed at Yonsei University's Songdo International Campus Quantum Computing Center and announced by IBM on 19 November 2024. It uses a 127-qubit Eagle processor and is open to other Korean academic and industry users. Both IBM and the Korea Times describe the 127-qubit processor. Later upgrade status was not found.
Spec sheet
Technical details as the builder or a paper states them, each with its own source. A blank is a fact we could not source, not a zero. Fidelity and coherence figures are in the benchmark table below.
| Spec | Value | Basis | Note | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Processor | IBM Quantum Eagle, 127 qubits | Vendor reported | IBM names the 127-qubit Eagle and the Korea Times says 127 qubits; the Eagle revision is not stated. | newsroom.ibm.comkoreatimes.co.kr |
| Qubit type | fixed-frequency transmon qubits | Peer reviewed | A Nature paper describes the 127-qubit Eagle ibm_kyiv as fixed-frequency transmons and a 2024 survey says IBM processors are transmon-based; family-level; the Eagle revision at Yonsei is not stated. | pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.govarxiv.org |
| Topology | heavy-hex lattice | Peer reviewed | The Nature paper gives heavy-hex connectivity for Eagle and the 2024 survey says Eagle uses a heavy-hexagonal layout; family-level; the Eagle revision at Yonsei is not stated. | pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.govarxiv.org |
| Max connectivity | 3 | Peer reviewed | The Nature paper says each Eagle qubit has at most three neighbours and the 2024 survey says two or three; family-level. | pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.govarxiv.org |
| Native gates | ECR, RZ, SX, X, ID | Vendor reported | IBM documentation lists ECR as the Eagle two-qubit gate and a 2024 survey lists these basis gates for Eagle r3 units; family-level, not read from this unit. | quantum.cloud.ibm.comarxiv.org |
| Cooling and environment | dilution refrigerator inside the System One enclosure | Vendor reported | IBM's blog says its quantum processors sit in a dilution refrigerator that reaches 15 to 20 millikelvin; this is an IBM-wide statement, not specific to this unit. | ibm.com |
| Access and pricing | on-premises at Yonsei Songdo campus; for Yonsei and collaborating Korean academic and industry users | Vendor reported | IBM says it supports Yonsei's network and other Korean academic institutions, companies and organizations that collaborate with Yonsei; no price is published. | newsroom.ibm.com |
