Rigetti Ankaa-3

Rigetti Ankaa-3 is a superconducting circuits quantum computer operated by Rigetti Computing in USA. It has 84 physical qubits. It ranks 22 of 43 superconducting machines in this table by physical qubit count. 12 sourced specs are in the spec sheet. 1 published benchmark or milestone record are listed below, each marked by who measured it.

Also known as Ankaa-3 84-qubit system

Rigetti's 84-qubit system launched on 23 December 2024 with a stated 99.5 percent median two-qubit gate fidelity. It is listed as an available device on Amazon Braket and is also offered through Rigetti's own cloud. The sources used give no T1 or T2 figures.

Spec sheet

Technical details as the builder or a paper states them, each with its own source. A blank is a fact we could not source, not a zero. Fidelity and coherence figures are in the benchmark table below.

Processor Ankaa-3: 84-qubit Ankaa-class chip Vendor reported Rigetti launched it in December 2024 as its flagship 84-qubit system; AWS docs describe the Rigetti family as using scalable multi-chip technology while Rigetti describes Ankaa-3 itself as one 84-qubit chip. thequantuminsider.comdocs.aws.amazon.com
Qubit type All-tunable superconducting qubits Independent Amazon Braket documentation describes Rigetti processors as based on all-tunable superconducting qubits; this is a family-wide statement that covers Ankaa-3. docs.aws.amazon.comthequantuminsider.com
Topology Square lattice of qubits with tunable couplers Vendor reported Rigetti launch release describes the Ankaa-class chip architecture as a square lattice of qubits and tunable couplers (December 2024). thequantuminsider.com
Native gates RX (angles +/- pi/2 and +/- pi only), RZ, iSWAP Independent AWS lists rx, rz and iswap as native gates for Ankaa-3 under verbatim compilation; Rigetti also calibrates faster fSim gates (median 56 ns) for specialised algorithms. docs.aws.amazon.comthequantuminsider.com
Two-qubit gate time 72 ns Vendor reported Median iSWAP gate time reported by Rigetti at launch in December 2024; the more specialised fSim gate has a 56 ns median. thequantuminsider.com
Cooling and environment Cryogenic refrigerator with redesigned low-metal cold stage and improved shielding Vendor reported Rigetti describes an all-new cryogenic hardware design with less metal at the coldest stage of the refrigerator; the release does not name the refrigerator type or give a temperature. thequantuminsider.com
Fabrication Rigetti in-house quantum foundry; junctions made with Alternating-Bias Assisted Annealing Vendor reported Release also credits the SQMS center led by Fermilab for a metal deposition method with higher T1 baseline; it does not name the fab site. thequantuminsider.com
Software Amazon Braket SDK, with pulse-level control (frames flux_tx, charge_tx, readout_rx, readout_tx) Independent AWS documents pulse-level control on Rigetti devices with these predefined frames for Ankaa-3, and a 20,000 gate per circuit limit after compilation. docs.aws.amazon.com
Cloud platforms Rigetti Quantum Cloud Services; Amazon Braket Vendor reported Rigetti said at launch that Microsoft Azure would follow in Q1 2025, but the current Azure Quantum Rigetti page lists only Cepheus-1-108Q. thequantuminsider.comdocs.aws.amazon.com
Access and pricing Cloud queue via Rigetti QCS and Amazon Braket (us-west-1) Independent The Braket price page now lists only the Cepheus family for Rigetti, so no Ankaa-3 price is recorded. docs.aws.amazon.comthequantuminsider.com
Successor Rigetti Cepheus-1-36Q Vendor reported GlobalData reporting on the August 2025 release calls Ankaa-3 the predecessor of the 36-qubit multi-chip Cepheus-1-36Q. finance.yahoo.com
Roadmap Planned a 36-qubit four-chip system by mid-2025 and a 100+ qubit system by end 2025, each with 2x lower error Vendor reported Stated by Rigetti in the December 2024 launch release; the 36-qubit system arrived in August 2025 and the 108-qubit system in April 2026. thequantuminsider.com

Published benchmark figures

These are numbers the builder or a paper reports for this machine, not results from a common test. The basis column says who measured them. What the metrics mean and why they are not comparable across technologies.
