JAQUI-5
JAQUI-5 is a silicon spin quantum computer operated by Forschungszentrum Julich in Germany. It has 5 physical qubits. It ranks 3 of 3 silicon spin machines in this table by physical qubit count. 6 sourced specs are in the spec sheet. No benchmark figures are recorded for it yet.
Also known as Julich ArQUe semIconductor quantum computer, ARQUE Systems 5-qubit
Announced as a partnership with ARQUE Systems on 20 December 2024. The JUNIQ page says JAQUI-5, financed by Forschungszentrum Julich, was installed in 2025 and commissioned in early 2026, and that this pilot is to be replaced by a scalable semiconductor machine of up to 200 qubits. User documentation was still marked as coming soon.
Spec sheet
Technical details as the builder or a paper states them, each with its own source. A blank is a fact we could not source, not a zero. Fidelity and coherence figures are in the benchmark table below.
| Spec | Value | Basis | Note | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Processor | ARQUE Systems semiconductor quantum processor, 5 qubits | Vendor reported | Both sources describe a 5-qubit semiconductor system. | fz-juelich.dethequantuminsider.com |
| Qubit type | Electron spin qubits in silicon | Vendor reported | The trade report describes transistor-like structures capturing single electrons. | fz-juelich.dethequantuminsider.com |
| Topology | Electron shuttling moves electrons across the chip to connect qubits | Vendor reported | ARQUE calls the shuttle paths patented. | fz-juelich.dethequantuminsider.com |
| Fabrication | ARQUE Systems design with Helmholtz Nano Facility and Infineon Dresden for scalable designs | Vendor reported | The article names them as collaborators; which party fabricates the delivered chip is not stated. | thequantuminsider.com |
| Access and pricing | Financed by Forschungszentrum Julich and hosted in JUNIQ; user documentation still to come | Vendor reported | Per the JUNIQ page last modified 9 September 2026. | fz-juelich.de |
| Successor | Scalable ARQUE semiconductor quantum computer of up to 200 qubits (planned) | Vendor reported | JUNIQ says the pilot is intended to be replaced by such a system. | fz-juelich.de |
