Tesla Dojo D1

Tesla's custom training processor for the Dojo supercomputer: 354 usable cores on a 645 mm^2 TSMC 7nm die, about 50 billion transistors, 2 GHz clock, deployed 25 dies per Training Tile and 3,000 dies per full ExaPOD.

Why this part

Presented at Tesla's first AI Day on 19 August 2021 and detailed further at Hot Chips 34 in August 2022. Independent Hot Chips coverage from The Next Platform and Chips and Cheese agree on the 645 mm^2 die, 354 usable cores, TSMC 7nm process, 2 GHz clock and roughly 362 TFLOPS BF16/CFP8 per die, which is why this part record is verified even though Tesla never published an independent third-party benchmark of it. Tesla shut down the Dojo program in August 2025.
