Miztli

Operated by UNAM (DGTIC) at UNAM Ciudad Universitaria .

Phase 1 seed dataset, compiled by hand. These rows were built from public operator, laboratory and vendor sources. A mechanical second-reader pass has since fetched every cited source: 1092 of 1153 systems have a readable citation that names them, and 40 are genuinely weakly sourced. Every claim carries its source and a confidence tier. Treat anything below verified as a lead, not a citation.

What this machine is made of

One row per supplier relationship. “Supplier at build” is the company that shipped the part at the time; where that company has since been acquired, the parent it rolls up to today is shown beside it. That distinction is what makes ticker-level aggregation possible across a thirty-year dataset.

The read

UNAM's fifth-generation supercomputer, run by the university's DGTIC directorate as the anchor of Mexico's CONACYT-funded LANCAD consortium alongside IPN's ABACUS and Xiuhcóatl clusters. An HP (now HPE) Cluster Platform SL230s Gen8 of Xeon E5-2670 nodes on QDR InfiniBand, installed in 2012 and opened to researchers in January 2013, 348th on the November 2012 TOP500 at 92.28 TFlop/s; HP as manufacturer and the Xeon E5-2670 processor are independently confirmed by UNAM's own retrospective coverage, so the tier is verified. TOP500 gives 5,616 cores where that same UNAM-sourced coverage describes the 2013 machine as '5,132 processors', a difference that reads like sockets counted against threads rather than a real disagreement over the hardware, so TOP500's core count is used and the conflict is logged. Miztli was expanded again in 2015 and 2017 per UNAM's own account, but neither expansion was ever submitted to TOP500, so only the original 2012 entry is recorded here.

Source check

We fetched this system's own citations and recorded whether each page actually mentions it. This is a corroboration signal, not a fact check, and it is published so you can see how well the sourcing holds up rather than take it on trust.
