Quantum Brilliance QDK at Fraunhofer IAF

Quantum Brilliance QDK at Fraunhofer IAF is a other quantum computer operated by Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft in Germany. It has 2 physical qubits. It ranks 3 of 4 other machines in this table by physical qubit count. 5 sourced specs are in the spec sheet. No benchmark figures are recorded for it yet.

Also known as QB-QDK2.0 at Fraunhofer IAF

Fraunhofer IAF bought the second-generation QB-QDK2.0 after a public tender (announced 18 November 2024) and reported it installed in May 2025 and integrated into the institute's HPC environment, with SVA System Vertrieb Alexander supporting installation. IAF calls it Europe's first room-temperature quantum accelerator; qubits are nitrogen-vacancy centres in synthetic diamond and no cryogenics are needed. It runs the open-source Qristal SDK and Emulator, and after a test phase partners in science and industry will get access. The qubit count of 2 is taken from the ORNL write-up of the same QDK product, since IAF's pages do not state one. IAF also hosts a separate NV-based system from the University of Stuttgart in its application laboratory. The first global buyer was ORNL (quantum-brilliance-ornl-quoll).

Spec sheet

Technical details as the builder or a paper states them, each with its own source. A blank is a fact we could not source, not a zero. Fidelity and coherence figures are in the benchmark table below.
