Thinking Machines CMost
Thinking Machines' proprietary Unix variant, the operating system that ran the CM-5/1024 at Los Alamos.
Why this part
The only independent technical description of the CM-5 in this dataset that names its operating system is the 1994 Netlib/TOP500 architecture report, which lists "Operating system: CMost (TMCs Unix variant)" in a single line alongside the machine's compilers: CM Fortran, C*, *Lisp. Thinking Machines Corporation filed for bankruptcy in 1994 and left no successor to check the claim against, and the Computer History Museum page that is this system's other source does not name the OS at all. That leaves CMost sourced to one organisation rather than two, the same limitation most pre-1995 systems in this dataset run into once you ask for a name rather than a category.

“Units recorded” sums only the edges where a public source states a quantity. It is a floor, not a total, and should never be read as installed base.
