Intel Xeon 6 6900P (Granite Rapids)
Up to 128 P-cores, 12-channel DDR5-6400 or MRDIMM 8800, 504MB L3. Intel’s first part to match EPYC core counts since 2017.
Why this part
The first Intel server part to match AMD on core count since 2017, and the first where Intel adopted the chiplet approach it had spent years arguing against. MRDIMM support is the more interesting specification: multiplexed rank DIMMs interleave two ranks to present nearly double the effective data rate, which is a memory-bandwidth answer that does not require HBM and does not give up capacity. Whether that is enough to matter depends entirely on whether the arithmetic is on the CPU at all.

“Units recorded” sums only the edges where a public source states a quantity. It is a floor, not a total, and should never be read as installed base.
