Parts/CPUs/AMD Opteron (Barcelona) 2.0GHz
Why this part
AMD's first native quad-core x86 server part, launched in September 2007 in time for TACC to fill Ranger's 3,936 nodes with it the following spring. Barcelona's launch had been delayed by a widely reported TLB erratum that AMD fixed in a later stepping, part of why Ranger's debut slipped into February 2008.
