Sugon 8000 Dengfeng

Also known as Sugon 8000, Dawning 8000, Dengfeng supercluster

Operated by Sugon at Zhengzhou Supercomputing Core Node Site .

Phase 1 seed dataset, compiled by hand. These rows were built from public operator, laboratory and vendor sources. A mechanical second-reader pass has since fetched every cited source: 1092 of 1153 systems have a readable citation that names them, and 40 are genuinely weakly sourced. Every claim carries its source and a confidence tier. Treat anything below verified as a lead, not a citation.

Figures are as last publicly reported for the configuration described below, not a live measurement. Where a system was upgraded in place, the post-upgrade configuration is shown and the earlier one appears in the timeline.

What this machine is made of

One row per supplier relationship. “Supplier at build” is the company that shipped the part at the time; where that company has since been acquired, the parent it rolls up to today is shown beside it. That distinction is what makes ticker-level aggregation possible across a thirty-year dataset.

The read

Fully domestic supercomputing and AI supercluster at the Zhengzhou core node of China's National Supercomputing Internet, announced complete on 10 July 2026 with over 100,000 domestically developed accelerator cards and described by China Daily as built and operated by Sugon (Dawning Information Industry). The node began trial operation in February 2026 and a 60,000-card AI-for-Science cluster went live on 14 April 2026 (China Daily, April 2026) before the full 100,000-card pool opened (China News Service: the largest single domestic AI resource pool on the network, which pools over 3.5 million CPU cores and 250,000 GPU cards). Commentary describes immersion liquid cooling and mixed domestic accelerator brands. China Daily gives no FLOPS or power figures, so none are recorded. Operator attribution varies between pages (Sugon builds and runs the cluster; CGTN names a national HPC engineering research centre for the node).
