Academia Sinica 5-Qubit System

Academia Sinica 5-Qubit System is a superconducting circuits quantum computer operated by Academia Sinica in Taiwan. It has 5 physical qubits. It ranks 69 of 74 superconducting machines in this table by physical qubit count. 3 sourced specs are in the spec sheet. No benchmark figures are recorded for it yet.

Also known as Taiwan first self-developed quantum computer

Unveiled on 29 January 2024 at an event attended by President Tsai Ing-wen, who received a 4-inch quantum wafer. Academia Sinica says it is Taiwan's first self-developed 5-qubit superconducting full-stack system and that it is on the cloud for project collaborators; TVBS says it took about two years, was funded by NSTC and Academia Sinica, and is based at the institution's southern campus quantum base. Neither page gives fidelity or coherence data. Another outlet mentioned a 20-qubit follow-on but no Academia Sinica page confirming it was found, so it is not recorded. Compare iqm-spark-tsri, the other Taiwanese machine, which is a bought IQM unit.

Spec sheet

Technical details as the builder or a paper states them, each with its own source. A blank is a fact we could not source, not a zero. Fidelity and coherence figures are in the benchmark table below.
