Sunway TaihuLight storage network

A domestically built storage network and disk array rather than a Western parallel filesystem appliance, providing 20PB behind the compute nodes.

Why this part

Domestic in the same complete sense as everything else about this machine. Sunway TaihuLight's processor, fabric, operating system and, per the system's own published architecture paper, its storage network too were built without a Lustre or GPFS appliance from a Western vendor anywhere in the stack. The published figure is a total capacity, 20PB, and a total I/O bandwidth, 288 GB/s, without the vendor's own name for a specific filesystem product, which is consistent with a system whose supply chain was assembled to owe nothing to the export-controlled companies that would supply that layer everywhere else in this dataset.

“Units recorded” sums only the edges where a public source states a quantity. It is a floor, not a total, and should never be read as installed base.
