Why this part
A Linux port to the Sunway SW26010's unusual heterogeneous core layout, and as domestic as the rest of Sunway TaihuLight: the processor, the fabric and the software all designed and built inside China. Porting an operating system to a wholly custom instruction set is years of unglamorous work with no public showcase of its own, and it is exactly the layer a substitution programme has to complete before a processor is usable rather than merely built.
