Intel Gaudi 3
Habana's third-generation training accelerator, notable for using Ethernet as the scale-up fabric rather than a proprietary link.
Why this part
Acquired rather than designed: Intel bought Habana Labs in 2019 for about two billion dollars after its own Nervana acquisition went nowhere. Gaudi's distinguishing choice is to put twenty-four 200Gb Ethernet ports on the die, so clusters scale over standard Ethernet instead of InfiniBand, which is a direct attack on the part of NVIDIA's position that is not the GPU. Whether that is enough without CUDA is the open question for every challenger in this category.
