Why this part
Not a JEDEC standard so much as a vendor push past one: HBM3E is an industry extension that arrived faster than the standards body's own cadence because demand for AI training memory outran it. It is now the single most binding constraint on how many large accelerators anyone can actually ship, ahead of the compute die itself, which is why H200's entire value proposition over H100 is more of this and nothing else.
