H2FS

NUDT's hybrid hierarchy file system for Tianhe-2: a virtual namespace spanning local and shared storage tiers over a Lustre backend, rather than Lustre presented directly.

Why this part

Jack Dongarra's 2013 visit report on Tianhe-2 describes a 12.4 PB global shared parallel storage system using H2FS, and NUDT and Sun Yat-sen University's own 2020 paper on the system's storage design independently names the same technology: a hybrid virtual namespace over local and shared storage tiers. Two organisations outside each other's chain of authorship naming the same specific technology is the clearest kind of corroboration this dataset asks for.

“Units recorded” sums only the edges where a public source states a quantity. It is a floor, not a total, and should never be read as installed base.
