Storage

BeeGFS

Parallel distributed filesystem software; Serafin's shared storage layer over node-local NVMe.

Why this part

An open-source parallel filesystem originally developed at the Fraunhofer Center for High Performance Computing and now stewarded commercially by ThinkParQ, running as Serafin's shared storage layer at UNC's CCAD centre in Cordoba, Argentina, over Samsung PM983 NVMe drives local to each node rather than a dedicated appliance tier. It is a lighter-weight alternative to Lustre and GPFS, common at university-scale clusters that do not need appliance-grade parallel storage.

“Units recorded” sums only the edges where a public source states a quantity. It is a floor, not a total, and should never be read as installed base.
