Ampere Altra Max
128-core Arm server processor, used as a host in GPU nodes where core count per watt matters more than single-thread speed.
Why this part
128 cores with no simultaneous multithreading, which is a deliberate refusal: every core is a real core with predictable performance, so a cloud tenant gets what it paid for rather than a share of someone else's pipeline. Ampere sells almost entirely into hyperscale rather than HPC, and the part appears in this dataset because the merchant Arm server market is the pool that national programmes shop from when x86 becomes unavailable.
Systems using this part
No systems in the current dataset record this part. It is carried in the taxonomy so the graph is complete, and so edges can attach to it as coverage grows.
